Today's review brought to you not only by me but also ms.Ng (´ڡ`)

All in all, we had an awesome yummylicious meal!
p.s// They use slow juicer (I think it was Hurom brand) for their fruit juices! So drink away!

I love fried chicken in general and this did not disappoint! At all!
No surprises why they are called Korean No.1 Fried Chicken!

Honestly, the only thing missing was a cup of ice cold beer hahahaha
Esp to counter the Hot Spice flavour  O_O

Also, if you watched "My Love from The Star", this was the fried chicken
that always appears inside.

Oh yes!

The Carpenter's Daughter @ USJ Taipan, Subang Jaya

Today's food review!(⌒▽⌒)♡

Isn't the name super cute? ( ´ ▽ ` )

When Caroline first told me the name, thought she was joking with me!
And being the kepochi I am, automatically I asked if the owner of this bakery cum cafe is a carpenter's daughter

 YES! SHE IS! (゚〇゚!!)

her dad STILL DOES carpentry!

Ambience was quite nice!

Very warm, homey (honestly, this photo of their ingredients reminds me of my own home) & has that whole "wood" theme going on.

Which of course, suits the cafe's name.

It's not just to "stick to the name", if I remember correctly, most of the stuffs/furniture used that you see in the shop are made by her dad?! (゚〇゚!!)

Not sure bout the bread racks.
But the tables, the chairs, the wooden tray used to put food.
(Do take note of your chairs when you dine in!)

All of it.

I would say it's very nicely made too!
Cause I actually asked if it's for sale Hahahaha (^▽^"") #shopaholic

Famous for their wholesome, organic, homemade sourdough bread!

The thing that I felt was quite reasonably priced while walking around the shop, was actually the cakes.

Per slice was around rm10.90 averagely.
I would assume it's cheaper than most places? Slices looks normal sized too.

And the ingredients said?
All organic!
No artificial flavouring!

I realized some trays are empty but that's cause the stuffs get sold out pretty fast seeing that everything is made fresh daily.

So frst come, frst serve!  (¬‿¬ )

Though I have never heard of this cafe since I hardly step out of my PJ comfort zone.

But this place has been around quite a while?

Cause it's their 4th Anniversary this year!

To celebrate, a new menu will be launched ( ´ ▽ ` )
Classic French Toast (from their own homemade bread of course) served with organic Agave, baked apple cinnamon, butter (Lurpak yo!) & jam.

For the sweet tooth, I bet this dish would satisfy them through & through. Sometimes you just wanna eat something sweet but not necessarily dessert?

This hits the spot! (´౪`)

Bread Platter comes with 4 types of bread (tomato, 7 grain, cranberry & ciabatta), truffle butter, walnuts, grapes & a bowl of soup!

It was hard to pick a fav bread among the four, though I thought the tomato bread was quite interesting. First time eating such flavour!

Love dunking bread into soup in general  (。◕‿◕。)
plus point that the soup is homemade, not out from some can!
Loved the truffle butter too! Too bad it was a lil' hard thus it was difficult to have a nice spread on the bread.
Roasted Garlic Shrimp Dip is a combination of shrimp & scallop dip infused with garlic, herbs & a hint of chilli. Serves with Italian square bread.

Prawns could have been fresher but otherwise, everything else was yummy.
Quite enjoyed this bread too!
(I can safely say I enjoy all their breads so far hahaha)

Yes. I like dunking breads into sauces too (・∀・)

Yogurt Parfait & more is my kind of breakfast!

Comes with muesli yogurt parfait, quinoa salad, mini roll with tuna, pastry of the day & orange juice!

It's like a mini party on one tray! Perfect for people like me who likes varieties of stuff!

Loved the yogurt parfait & quinoa salad ( ̄∀ ̄)
Orange juice reminded me of the ones served on aeroplanes flights!
(which I like okay!)

P.s// So far all the wooden trays you see the food being placed on?
All made by the owner's father!
I love it! haha Yes, I asked if they are for sale! ( ´艸`)

Buckwheat Assam Laksa definitely stands out on it's own.

Not really my cup of tea as I prefer Assam Laksa with strong flavours.
This was more of a healthy version I should say?

The noodle itself was not bad & definitely something diff for as an Assam Laksa ingredient!

Classic Aglio Olio is nothing new but the taste definitely came as a pleasant surprise!

Sometimes the simplest dish I feel, is one of the hardest to make and I think they did it well.

Everything was nicely balanced!

Definitely one of my more fav dish today! ( ̄∀ ̄)
My favourite time of the day!
Tea time!(✪‿✪)ノ

2 tiers of sweets & salty.
Scones with jam & cream, mushroom quiches, lemon meringues, carrot cake, macarons & light sandwiches.

Savour these delightful treats with Premium Tea from Ronnefeldt Germany.

Rows of scones, mushroom quiches & lemon meringue tarts!
These are what I tried from the afternoon tea set!

Scones were not bad. Would very much preferred if it was served warm.

I don't fancy quiche in general but EVERYONE else took a second helping for that. So I think it should be good la. (´౪`)

Lemon meringue tart was yummmyyyyy.
They said they only used pure lemon to make the paste (the filling??)

I love it cause it's sooooooo freaking sour
Hahaha if you don't like sour stuff, Please don't eat this. Cause it definitely packs a punch!

 A fantastic great punch! (´∀`)/

#KLigraphy // Basic Calligraphy Workshop @ The Alphabet Press Studio SS2

Didn't know how Inez managed to fish the nib out, but she did!

Joined a calligraphy workshop hosted by inksandletters & inezcalligraphy recently.

Wrote about the workshop in detail about it here > DAYRE (#KLigraphy)

In a nutshell, the price might be a lil steep, but if you are truly interested to learn basic calligraphy (5 hours of writing is no joke)  I can ensure you, it will be fun! So long you truly have an interest in it! (*˘︶˘*)

Of course, it's an experience cause you will not only know the 2 amazing women behind the workshop (they are so so so friendly, kind & inspiring people) but you will also make know strangers that will become your friends after that 5 hours (you know, only they will be the one who truly understand the 5 hours of writing marathon LOL )

Front Page Sports Bar & Grill @ Changkat, Kuala Lumpur

The other day, Caroline so generously invited ah pek & me to go for a bar review at Changkat! (⌒▽⌒)♡
Honestly at first, I was a bit skeptical cause...of the name....?

Front Page Sports Bar & Grill

It was such a vague name & wasn't sure what to expect... (・_・ )

But the moment I saw the real thing, I was pleasantly surprised!! It looks quite quirky in it's own lil way!!

With it's interesting deco, I think it stands out from the rest easily. Nowadays, people go for like a more posh setting. But theirs felt more homely. Like a neighbourhood kinda feel. That's the vibe I get (but then again, that's my view)
It helps that the area (this particular area where we sat, outdoor seating) is windy!
For a moment felt like I was in overseas! *very happy* ( ´ ▽ ` )

Why the name sports bar?
I am guessing cause they specialize in showing sports HAHAHA
They have soooo many TVs around, each of them showing a diff kind of sport (or different sport channels) much to ah pek's delight.

Cause now he can watch MANY sports at one go instead of just one!

OR if one of them is having a break, he just have to shift his eyes to the next TV to watch the other!
so yea, so totally a BIG BONUS POINT for him.

They not only have sports, inside they have this live music area where musicians will sing (depending on schedule)

In my above photo, you will spot the sign "Pool Table Downstairs"
Another zone for the non-sports people to hang out!

If you want a posh, quiet & private area....that would be upstairs (☆ω☆)
I will leave that as a secret/surprise, you would have to go & see it for yourself!

What about the food?
 (¬‿¬ )

Food for me is important cause that's what I will be doing when ah pek is fully concentrated on the TV right!
(Stuffing my face HAHAH)

So surprised that everything was beyond what I was expecting (゚〇゚!!)
(cause you know...pubs are usually more for drinking, not for the food)

Pork Satay

PORK. PORK satay. Such a rare satay & they have it here! (Honestly, I really hardly see pork satay being sold in KL)
& safe to say, it was yummeh! It was tender & a "just nice" ratio of the fatty bits for maximum juiciness. I recalled the price was a bit steep, but it was worthy!

Charred Grilled Chicken Wings

Most importantly, it wasn't overcooked! This comes close to my mom's awesome homemade wings.
Verrrrrry close.

Prawn Wrapped With Popiah Skin
  (New on the menu!)

I wished I took Eric's & Caroline's expression when they ate this. HAHA their face totally showed how awesome this was. The prawns were fresh (which is important!) and with the thai sauce (that I generally love), it's a good combo!

Bacon & Ham Pizza

If you love pizza & pork, you must order this!
This came the last, by then I was so full (cus everything was yummy? So I was greedily whacking away) I wished I had external tummy so I can eat summore of this pizza! (╥﹏╥)

Smoked Salmon Bruschetta

A "never can go wrong" combo! I am bias towards anything smoked salmon!

Lamb Shank

The biggest shock of the night, was this lamb shank.
It was HUGE!
and it was priced at RM30! (゚ロ゚) !
Totally affordable & I would safely say that it's sharing portion! (Unless you are a huge eater, then of course, by all means, enjoy it wholesomely! All to yourself!)
Of course, the night isn't complete without drinks!

They have a WIDE variety & I am sure everyone would be able to find something suitable to their taste buds!
For me, I'm sticking to my usual cider! So happy to see it here!

Hahaha! Thought this was something new to me!

Men's night!

I always always see ladies' night!
But men's night is definitely the first for me!

Quite cute right?! (^▽^)
Ah pek was like as happy as a small boy seeing candy when he saw that signboard.
So....if you guys are like ah pek & me, (same equation as us or not) Front Page Sports Bar is definitely the place to go! (*´︶`*)
